Hello!
My name is Marie and I’m doing some research into the pom pom blanket method. Your photo is the earliest one I could find on the internet. I’m interested to know where the technique originated from and what it is called.
Under the post “Ravishing Yarn Pom Pom Ideas” the image called “Pom Pom Yarn Pattern” is the technique I’m researching.
Do you know where you first saw it and if there is a name for the technique used to create it. I’ve been calling it weaving but I’m not sure that’s the correct term for it!
Many thanks and I look forward to hearing from you,
Marie
Sorry, we have no specific info on the name and origin of the pattern. We have just given it as an idea. Our main article is about making yarn pom poms for which we have provided tutorials. The mentioned image of a pom pom blanket was given as an idea of what you could do with yarn pom poms.
